A 29-year-old man, Lebogang Lutha Libyane, lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run accident on March 28 at Ka’Silinda Esteshini in Marite. According to sources, he was crossing the road when a speeding vehicle struck him. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene without stopping.

The incident occurred during load-shedding, making it difficult for anyone to see the car or its number plate. Witnesses reported that a second vehicle ran over Libyane after the initial impact. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

His brother, Beleck Mzuzu Libyane, confirmed that Lebogang will be laid to rest on April 5.

The tragic accident has left the community in shock, with many calling for improved street lighting and better road safety enforcement to prevent such devastating incidents in the future. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to come forward and assist in the investigation.
