Two people lost their lives December 8, in a tragic head-on collision involving a vehicle and an articulated truck on the N4 near the Matsulu turn-off.

Moeti Mmusi, spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, confirmed that individuals remain trapped in one of the vehicles, with updates on injuries expected from emergency personnel at the scene.

Currently, one lane is closed with a stop-and-go system in place, but a full road closure may occur for recovery operations. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously or consider alternative routes to avoid delays.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
