FNB reduces vehicle license disc fee

In a bid to provide affordable solutions amidst economic pressures, FNB has cut the
service fee for vehicle license disc renewals on its app to just R69 for a limited period.
This marks a significant reduction from the previous R99 fee implemented in November
last year.

Additionally, customers can enjoy a R99 eBucks cashback when they get a no-
obligation insurance quote from FNB Insurance and renew their vehicle license through
the app. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on consumers grappling with
high interest rates and inflation.

Facilitated through a collaboration with the Road Traffic Management Corporation, the
renewal process is straightforward for registered vehicle owners. Users simply need to
scan their license disc using the FNB app and complete the secure in-app payment.

While vehicle license renewals were once exclusive to post offices and driver’s license
centres, there are now several private entities offering this service as an alternative to
queuing, including banks, supermarkets, and the National Traffic Information System
(eNatis).

“We’re committed to helping our customers navigate life’s challenges by providing
affordable, seamless, and secure solutions for their car needs,” said FNB’s Chief
Imagineer, Jolandé Duvenage. She highlighted the service’s growing popularity, with
over a million vehicles uploaded and 107,000 renewals completed in the past year
alone.
