Mpumalanga’s Department of Community Safety has urged ANC members to obey traffic rules when attending the party’s 112th birthday celebrations in Mbombela on Saturday.
Multiple fatal crashes have occurred in the province since January 1st. MEC Vusi Shongwe wants celebrants to prioritize road safety amid the festivities.
“We call on motorists coming to the capital for these celebrations to obey the rules of the road to avoid deaths from crashes,” Shongwe stated.
He advised avoiding drunk driving, ensuring vehicle roadworthiness, and resting sufficiently on long trips.
A large arrival of travellers is expected for the ANC’s January 8th statement delivery. Shongwe implored drivers to be cautious and responsible on the roads while celebrating.
Observing regulations like speed limits, seatbelts, and sober driving can prevent holiday tragedies.
