Mbalula Leads Candlelight March Against Crime Before ANC Rally

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula led a peaceful candlelight march in Umjindi Ward 45 on Wednesday night. The walk formed part of the party’s “Reclaim the Night” initiative against community crime ahead of its 112th anniversary celebrations.

Mbalula addressed citizens before the march, joined by ANCYL President Collen Malatji and other youth leaders. Their steps echoed a collective call for safety and solidarity.

On Sunday, Mbalula also spoke at the Umjindi Town Hall as the ANC builds up to its annual January 8th rally on Saturday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the January 8th statement outlining the party’s 2023 priorities at the rally. Mbalula’s candlelight march united members against crime in preparation for this major event.

The walk exemplified the ANC’s efforts to engage communities on social issues before its 112th anniversary. Mbalula led members in calling for safer streets in a show of force against criminality.
