Saturday, 30 September was the end of the road for a 24-year-old most wanted alleged house breaker in Schoemansdal.
Around 21h00, the suspect was taken into custody in Masibekele, close to Tonga. One of the most wanted suspects, who has been terrorising the neighbourhood for almost a year, was located while police in Schoemansdal were busy performing operational responsibilities.
Police swiftly responded to the information and headed straight to his hiding place. The suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed 9 mm pistol with five ammunition. He is suspected of having committed several business robberies around the Schoemansdal poling area since the beginning of this year 2023.
It is alleged that he could have been involved in the commission of various criminal activities where it is suspected that he was armed with different kinds of firearms when committing such crimes. However, after his arrest, he was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition.
The investigating team is working hard to ensure that he is charged appropriately for the alleged run of business robberies in which he was engaged.
