June 27, 2023COPE terminates Willie Madisha’s membership

Willie Madisha’s membership in the Congress of the People’s decision-making body has been
revoked. Papers were sent to the party’s former deputy president on Sunday, June 25.
Additionally, he is required to give back all party property. Within 14 days, Madisha may file an
appeal with the Acting General Secretary.
Madisha is probably going to lose his position as the party’s representative in parliament as well.
Cope claimed that Madisha was expelled following a weekend meeting of the congress national
committee.
Along with spokesperson Dennis Bloem, Madisha was also suspended the year before, although they
have continued to work.
Cope, a small political party, purportedly has different results after its congress national committee.
While some argue that the expulsions were unexpected and have now put the party’s approaching
national conference at the centre of the ongoing turmoil, others are certain that Madisha and
Nhleko are gone.
This is due to Lekota, the party’s president, having to vacate his position.
An application over the continued squabbles is yet to be argued in the courts.
