Two Mpumalanga Women Arrested for Murder

Sakhile, Standerton – Two women have been arrested for the brutal killing of their friend following a dispute over missing money at a party.

The suspects, aged 25 and 26, were arrested on  6 June 2025, in Sakhile, Standerton. It is alleged that the pair accused their 35-year-old friend of stealing R1,000 during a gathering they had attended together.

After confronting the woman while she was walking with a male companion, the suspects allegedly forced her into a shack belonging to the boyfriend of one of them. There, the woman was viciously assaulted using an electric cord, a shovel, and a knife. Reports further state that the suspects stabbed her repeatedly while demanding the money.

When the victim eventually lost consciousness, the suspects transported her to a local clinic—where she was declared dead on arrival.

Police arrested both women, who are expected to appear in court soon. Investigations are ongoing.
