SAPS Clerk Escapes Jail Sentence
A 53-year-old administration clerk from Hazyview SAPS has avoided prison after being convicted of running an illegal cash loan business.
Bernard Ndlovu was arrested in July 2023 when police found 140 bank and SASSA cards in his possession. Investigations revealed that he had been lending money and keeping clientsâ cards as security.
The Whiteriver Magistrateâs Court sentenced him on Tuesday, 30 September, to one year in prison or a R30 000 fine, both suspended for five years on condition of no repeat offence.
The Hawks assured the public that such cases will be pursued without fear or favour.
