Police are investigating the fatal shooting of Kosabo Thugwana (45), a member of the Ndzundza-Fene Traditional Council, whose body was discovered in his Toyota Fortuner in KwaMhlanga on January 5.

Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, confirmed that Thugwana had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

“Officers recovered several cartridges from the scene. While no arrests have been made, the South African Police Service (SAPS) assures the public that all efforts are being made to bring those responsible to justice. The motive for the shooting is still unknown,” Mdhluli stated.

The police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or use the My SAPS app.

“All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and callers can remain anonymous,” Mdhluli added.
