NextGen Summit Empowers Youth In Mpumalanga

In a country grappling with persistent youth unemployment, inequality, and economic exclusion, the NextGen Impact Summit stands out as a powerful, purpose-driven platform aimed at equipping young people with the tools, networks, and mindset to create their own futures.
What sets the summit apart is its complete accessibility entry is free, breaking down a major barrier for many young South Africans eager to grow, but often unable to afford such opportunities.
âWe are proud to partner with Brandscapers Africa on this important initiative,â said Lunga Madonela, Absa's Area Segment Manager. âThis is more than CSI. Itâs an investment in the countryâs future leaders.â
The two-day event, happening 16 to 17 July 2025 at the Emalahleni Civic Centre in Mpumalanga, is packed with high-impact experiences from pitch battles, startup showcases, and branding masterclasses to digital marketing and social media strategy sessions.
A key feature, the Mentorship Cafés, offers direct engagement between youth and funders, professionals, and ecosystem leadersâproviding priceless face-to-face guidance. Additionally, township and rural entrepreneurs will showcase their businesses, helping reshape the countryâs youth entrepreneurship narrative.
By choosing Emalahleni, the summit makes a powerful statement: innovation and talent donât only exist in big cities. "We believe that young people are not a side note. They are the main story," says Emmanuel Bonoko, founder and CEO of Brandscapers Africa.
âAbsaâs partnership is a testament to whatâs possible when the private sector and grassroots movements work together for real impact.â
Special recognition goes to Absaâs regional team in Mpumalanga Poppie Mohlanga, Bulelani Bam, and Ndu Lwandle for their energy, collaboration, and hands-on support in making the summit a ground-level success.
South Africaâs youth unemployment rate remains among the highest in the world, but so does the potential of its young people. The NextGen Impact Summit offers more than talk it offers action, collaboration, and the belief that the next generation doesnât need saving. They just need the mic.
