Manhunt Launched After Hazyview Shooting

Police in Mpumalanga have launched a manhunt for suspects following a deadly shooting incident in Hazyview that left two men dead and a woman critically injured.

The incident occurred on 30 December 2025 at about 17:30 along the Nyongane Main Road. Police responding to the scene found two adult males with gunshot wounds. Both were certified dead at the scene. A woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. A two-year-old child who was travelling with the victims was unharmed.

According to preliminary investigations, the victims were travelling towards Nyongane when they were ambushed by an unknown number of suspects who were hiding in nearby bushes. The suspects allegedly opened fire on the vehicle. Despite being shot, the driver managed to continue driving for approximately 200 metres before colliding with another vehicle and coming to a stop.

The suspects, who were on foot, then reportedly approached the vehicle and shot the occupants at close range, killing the driver and his male passenger instantly. The injured woman is believed to be the driver’s wife.

A 72-hour activation plan has been implemented, with all relevant role players attending the scene as part of the investigation.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to contact Captain Eddie Rapagadi on 082 449 0231, the Crime Stop number 08600 10111, or to submit tips via the MySAPS App. All information will be treated as confidential, and callers may remain anonymous.
