Mabuza Launches 2025 Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience

Mpumalanga MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation, Leah Mabuza, officially launched the 10th edition of the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience on Tuesday, 7 October, celebrating a decade of arts, heritage and creative excellence in the province.

Speaking at the launch, Mabuza described the milestone as a “testament to the long-term vision” of developing the province’s creative industry and nurturing local talent.

“This year’s celebration is not just another series of festivals,” she said. “It marks ten years of cultural pride, economic stimulation and social cohesion in Mpumalanga.”

Since its inception in 2015, the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience has become one of the province’s flagship events, offering a platform for artists, entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive while attracting thousands of visitors to the province.

The 2025 programme will feature several themed events, including the Kasi Xperience in Embalenhle, Comedy Xperience in Mbombela, Choral Xperience in Elukwatini, and the Marathon Xperience in Kameelrevier B, among others. The celebrations will conclude with the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards on 7 December in Mbombela.

Mabuza reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to supporting local talent through initiatives such as the Music Creatives Workshop, which has produced the new single Phuma Langa, already gaining national airplay on major platforms.

In addition, a documentary chronicling the festival’s ten-year journey will premiere on 31 October on the department’s YouTube channel, DCSRTV.

“The Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience is no longer just an event—it’s a movement,” Mabuza said. “It embodies unity, creativity, and the unstoppable energy of our people.”

She urged residents, visitors and the media to continue supporting the event and using it as a platform to promote the province’s rich cultural heritage.

“Let us make 2025 a year to remember—a decade of cultural excellence and the beginning of an even greater journey,” she concluded.
