Fake Goods Seized on N4
Two suspects have been arrested after police intercepted a truck transporting counterfeit goods along the N4 near Nelspruit.
Members of the Ehlanzeni Anti-Hijacking Team acted on intelligence indicating that a truck travelling from Mozambique was allegedly carrying fake merchandise.
Police swiftly conducted patrols along the busy route and, at around 23:30 on 20 March 2026, spotted a vehicle matching the description provided. The truck was tactically stopped and searched.
During the operation, officers discovered 30 boxes containing sneakers suspected to be imitations of a well-known brand. The goods, valued at R2.4 million, were confiscated.
The driver and a crew member, aged 39 and 40, were arrested on charges of possession of illicit and counterfeit goods. They are expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrateâs Court soon.
