CAFA Men’s League Keeps Fans on Edge

The Central Acornhoek Football Association (CAFA) Men’s Promotional League continued this past weekend despite heavy rain, delivering thrilling matches and a few surprising results.

Moholoholo Academy FC claimed a hard-fought 3–2 victory away to Acornhoek City FC at the Acornhoek Police Station ground on Saturday. Respect Magabane netted twice for the visitors, with Clifford Makgubane adding another, while Rirhandzu Ubisi and Delight Mnisi responded for Acornhoek City, handing them their first defeat of the season.

Sunday saw Matsikitsane FC extend their winless run at home after falling 1–0 to Acornhoek Arsenal FC. Oupa Mokoena scored the decisive goal, securing the third win of the season for Arsenal after a challenging start.

Kulani Arrows also enjoyed a comeback, defeating Mahashe FC 3–2 at the Acornhoek Police Station ground. Mahashe led 2–0 at half-time but were unable to hold their advantage, ultimately conceding three goals in the second half.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated match between Green Rangers FC and Acornhoek Ajax FC, originally scheduled for Saturday at Score Rangers Ground in Mapaleng, Greenvalley, was postponed due to heavy rainfall and later cancelled on Sunday because of unforeseen circumstances.

Sipho Dzimba, CAFA chairman, expressed his satisfaction with the league’s progress. “We are pleased with the current state of affairs. As a new association with a new promotional league, we are performing well despite minor setbacks. Our focus remains on helping teams uphold the laws and principles of the game,” Dzimba said.
