Burglars Loot KaMhlushwa Primary School Equipment

KaMhlushwa, Mpumalanga — The Department of Education has strongly condemned a recent burglary at KaMhlushwa Primary School in the Nkomazi Local Municipality, where criminals made off with a significant amount of school equipment.

According to initial reports, the break-in occurred in the early hours of 08 June. The suspects allegedly gained access to the school premises, proceeded to the administration block, and forcefully broke into the strong room.

Among the stolen items were:

51 tablets

5 laptops

2 external hard drives

CCTV cameras

A WiFi router

3 screen projectors

2 printers

A large Empire music mixer

Various other essential school materials

The Department described the incident as a serious setback, stating that such crimes undermine its efforts to resource schools and provide quality education. The loss of critical equipment also poses a direct threat to effective teaching and learning at the school.

“We urge community members to refrain from buying stolen goods and to report any suspicious individuals or activities,” said a departmental spokesperson. “By working together, we can stop these criminal acts and protect our schools.”
