A suspect has been arrested following a major drug bust in Sakhile, Standerton, during an intelligence-driven operation by police in Mpumalanga.

The operation was carried out on 20 March 2026 by members of the SAPS, including the K9 Unit, Secunda DPCI and a local security company.

Police acted on information about alleged drug-dealing activities in the area. During the operation, officers found the suspect in possession of more than 670 Mandrax tablets and over 4,000 sachets of dagga.

The vehicle believed to have been used in the commission of the crime was also seized.

The suspect has been charged with dealing in drugs and dagga and is expected to appear before the Standerton Magistrate’s Court soon.
