Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of two deceased men near Lily Mine in Low’s Creek on Tuesday morning.
According to a media statement issued by the Office of the Provincial Commissioner, police received information at about 7am regarding two men who were suspected to be dead in the area. Officers responded to the scene together with Emergency Medical Services.
On arrival, the men were found covered with blankets and were both certified dead at the scene.
One of the deceased has since been positively identified by a relative, who confirmed that the man was his brother and that they originate from the Kingdom of Eswatini. Police are still working to establish the identity of the second deceased male and to locate his family.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths are currently under investigation, and police have not yet released further details.
