Two men have been arrested in Middelburg during a police operation aimed at strengthening safety over the festive period. The suspects, aged 37 and 38, were apprehended on Friday, 5 December 2025, for possession and dealing in dagga.

The arrests were made during an Operation Safer Festive Season initiative carried out by police officers in the Middelburg area. In addition to the arrests, three fines were issued for contraventions of Section 59 of the Mpumalanga Liquor Act 5 of 2006.

The two suspects are expected to appear in the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 8 December 2025.
