Limpopo Police Ready to Ensure Safety at G20 Health Summit
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo has confirmed that it is fully prepared to host the upcoming G20 Health Ministers Meeting, which kicks off on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at the Ranch Protea Hotel outside Polokwane.
The prestigious event will see health ministers, senior officials, and representatives from the world’s major economies and international organisations gathering to discuss pressing global health priorities.
According to the Acting Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, the police have finalised all necessary security measures and mobilised a range of specialised units to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.
Major General Scheepers said the SAPS has developed an integrated security plan to protect all delegates and maintain order throughout the summit. “Our preparations have been meticulous, and we are committed to ensuring that the event proceeds peacefully and professionally,” he said.
The SAPS will continue to work closely with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to monitor proceedings and respond promptly to any potential challenges.
The G20 Health Ministers Meeting marks a major moment for Limpopo, positioning Polokwane as an international stage for global cooperation on health and safety issues.
