Police in Balfour, Mpumalanga, are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man who was found dead and naked in an open field near Mandela (Siyathemba) on Saturday, 4 October 2025.

According to police reports, officers were alerted to the scene at around 8:50am, where they discovered the lifeless body of a man lying in a pool of blood with visible bruises. Emergency Medical Services were called, but the man was declared dead at the scene.

The deceased is believed to be in his early twenties, but his identity remains unknown.

Police have urged anyone who may recognise the man or have information that could help locate his family to contact Detective Sergeant Moeketsi Mofokeng on 072 351 3801 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be shared anonymously via the MYSAPS App.
