The Elukwatini police have launched an inquest investigation following the discovery of human remains near a river in Tjakastad, Mpumalanga, on January 21. The remains were found by a herder in the area.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the recovered remains include a human skull and a detached torso. Only the right arm was found, though its hand was missing. The left arm and both legs were not located at the scene.

Authorities are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying the remains or shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this grim discovery.
“Anyone who has a missing family member is encouraged to report it to their nearest police station immediately,” urged Lieutenant Colonel Ndubane.
