Kruger National Park Ramps Up Road Maintenance Ahead of Festive Season

South African National Parks (SANParks) recently released a 100-day road maintenance report for Kruger National Park (KNP), highlighting substantial progress in road upkeep as part of an extensive infrastructure improvement programme. The report shows that from July to October 2024, KNP focused on blading gravel roads, particularly in the Marula Region south of the Olifants River, with efforts to boost the visitor experience as the 2024 festive season approaches.

Repairs have moved to the Nxanatseni Region north of the Olifants River, where SANParks reports ongoing and significant progress. Maintenance priorities are guided by road usage frequency, with high-traffic routes given precedence.

With these upgrades, SANParks aims to ensure smoother and safer travel throughout KNP, anticipating a high influx of tourists this festive season.
