A 38-year-old man was arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder of 27-year-
old Zanele Zwane. The breakthrough comes after an investigative team assembled
under Mpumalanga Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Semakaleng Daphney Manamela
began probing Zwane’s fatal shooting in Carolina last Thursday morning.

The male suspect is expected to appear in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on Monday
facing a murder charge. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.

Zwane was gunned down in Carolina on January 24th. Following the shooting,
Manamela directed investigators to work swiftly to make an arrest. Their efforts led to
the apprehension of the 38-year-old man on Saturday.

Police have not released the identity of the accused or provided further details about
events leading up to Zwane’s murder. It is hoped the ongoing investigation and
