Police in Mpumalanga exhumed the body of a 75-year-old man who was allegedly killed by his grandson in Swalala near Whiteriver.
According to police, the 22-year-old grandson confessed to burying his grandfather in a shallow grave in the family’s backyard.
The dog unit and forensic team were present at the home of Albert Sanderson, 75, who was allegedly murdered by his 22-year-old grandson in Swalala. The forensic team was successful in exhuming the body.
One family member says the deceased had a quarrel with the grandson on Monday. Apparently, the fight between the two started when the grandfather tried to reprimand him about bringing different girlfriends in the house.
“He beat his grandfather with a fist and the grandfather knocked on the door, he later succumbed to his injuries” said Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.
Albert Sanderson allegedly died in the hands of his grandson, who then buried him behind his house.
