According to a province police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, an armed suspect opened fire on a ward councillor, Lot Nkuna (55), David Matsane (52) and a third person. He stated that Nkuna’s body was found inside a VW Polo and that he may have been sitting in the driver’s seat at the time of the shooting.

Whilst Matsane’s (52) lifeless body was found lying on the ground.

The third victim sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to a medical facility where he is receiving medical treatment.

Mohlala said that seven 9mm spent cartridges as well as one live round of ammunition were found on the scene.
