Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security, and Liaison, Jackie Macie, has urged motorists to drive cautiously to protect children, as recent statistics reveal a high number of young victims in road accidents. With school holidays starting on March 28, Macie emphasized the importance of vehicle roadworthiness, adherence to traffic laws, and safe driving practices, especially in wet conditions. He also warned against overloading trailers, a common cause of crashes. Law enforcement will be on high alert to ensure compliance. The provincial Easter Safety Campaign will soon be launched as part of the ongoing 365 Days for Road Safety Plan of Action 2025.
