The second school term in Mpumalanga began on a rewarding note as 1,000 learners received full sets of school uniforms during a handover ceremony at Mshadza Secondary School.

The initiative was led by the Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Lindi Masina, in partnership with the Mandla Ndlovu Foundation under the leadership of its chairperson, Carol Zulu.

The donation fulfils a commitment made by Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovuduring the announcement of the National Senior Certificate results earlier this year. The pledge was that the top ten Quintile 1–3 schools that achieved a 100% pass rate would receive uniforms for 100 learners each.

Speaking during the event, Masina encouraged learners to wear their new uniforms with pride and a strong sense of belonging. She also urged the Class of 2026 and other learners across the province to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their academic goals.

The Department of Education expressed appreciation to the Mandla Ndlovu Foundation for supporting the initiative, describing the gesture as one that reflects compassion, social responsibility and a shared commitment to improving the future of learners.
