The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has confirmed that the Red Level 10 warning for disruptive rainfall remains in place for Friday across the Lowveld region of Mpumalanga, with communities in Nkomazi, Bushbuckridge and the City of Mbombela identified as the most affected areas.

According to SAWS, residents should expect on-and-off showers and periods of persistent rain throughout the day. The ongoing rainfall is attributed to tropical moisture affecting the Lowveld and the escarpment areas of Mpumalanga, creating conditions that significantly increase the risk of flooding.
