A 48-year-old man has been arrested in Ntunda near Tonga after allegedly stabbing his wife, a 43-year-old police sergeant, to death on Tuesday evening, 2 December 2025.
Police were on routine patrol when community members alerted them to a domestic violence incident at a nearby home. On arrival, officers found a man outside the residence holding a knife. He was immediately disarmed.
Inside the house, officers found the woman unresponsive with multiple stab wounds. The suspect was taken into custody on the spot, and the knife was recovered as evidence. He is scheduled to appear in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court in Tonga on 4 December 2025.

He also condemned the killing, especially as it occurred during the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.
