The reigning Miss Bushbuckridge, Mkhenso Lubisi, spent her morning uplifting the future leaders of Ezrom Primary School in Thulamahashe, where she donated 50 sanitary towels to girls and roll-ons to boys. The generous gesture was made possible through the sponsorship of Sunbake Bushbuckridge.

The visit formed part of her ongoing give-back drive, aimed at motivating Grade 7 learners as they prepare for their final primary school examinations. With the transition to high school fast approaching, Mkhenso reminded the learners of the importance of self-belief, discipline, and education.

She described her presence at the school as an opportunity to act as a “big sister”, encouraging the pupils to stay focused and to recognise their own potential. “Education is vital, and you must always remember who you are,” she told the learners.

During the engagement, both boys and girls were taught about the importance of personal hygiene and how to carry themselves with confidence and responsibility. The donated items, she said, were meant not only as gifts but as tools of dignity — something essential for all young people, especially those who may be underprivileged.

Mkhenso emphasised that her reign is dedicated to community upliftment, development, and academic empowerment. Her focus continues to be on learners, students, and individuals facing difficult circumstances. “My goal is to give back, to serve where there is need, and to support initiatives that uplift and empower our communities,” she added.

As she continues her journey as Miss Bushbuckridge, Mkhenso hopes to attend more events centred on development and empowerment, ensuring that her influence leaves a lasting, positive impact on the youth of Bushbuckridge.
