Acornhoek United Claim First League Victory

Acornhoek United secured their first win of the ABC Motsepe League campaign with a thrilling 2–1 comeback against Sibange Young Bucks at Orks Sporting Field on Saturday, 25 October.

The visitors, Sibange Young Bucks, broke the deadlock in the 65th minute. However, Acornhoek United captain Shaka Manzini rose to the occasion, equalising with a powerful header in the 83rd minute before sealing the victory with a stunning free kick just three minutes later. His brace ensured the home side collected their first three points of the season.

Meanwhile, Bushbuckridge favourites Liver Brothers FC suffered their first defeat of the league, losing 2–0 away to Fannie Battalions.

In other fixtures, Nkomazi-based side The Bees fell 2–1 to Cape Town City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, while Kruger United were held to a goalless draw by Gauteng’s Gomora United.
