Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba has revealed that only 24% of pledges made during the past four provincial investment conferences have materialised into actual funding.

Across the four conferences, pledges amounting to R282 billion were made. To date, R66 billion has been invested in the province, creating more than 20,000 jobs in sectors such as mining, energy, and infrastructure.

On Wednesday, Premier Ramathuba and the MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET), Mr Tshitereke Matibe, briefed the media on the upcoming 5th Limpopo Investment Conference. The event, scheduled for 30–31 October 2025 in Polokwane, will run under the theme “Limpopo Rising – Africa’s New Investment Frontier.”

Ramathuba said the conference showcases the province’s commitment to growth and development, highlighting more than R32 billion in opportunities. “Take the 2024 Limpopo Investment Conference as an example: it catalysed R120.3 billion in new pledges, demonstrating growing confidence in Limpopo’s investment climate,” she said.

She noted that projects worth R19.2 billion are already underway, including developments by Ivanplats and Generic Core Sustainable Energy, which showcase the province’s potential in mining and renewable energy.

The Premier added that the 2025 edition will also unveil the Limpopo Investment Book 2025, a document that solidifies the province’s position as a prime investment destination. She emphasised that the conference aims to attract vital investments and inspire a brighter future, encouraging the media to share stories that foster optimism in communities.
