Day Two of the Sabi Sand Zonal Netball League brought drama and excitement to Crystal Lake in Ximhungwe on Sunday, 14 September, with Mookie Stars continuing their unbeaten run.

The Stars edged Crystal Lake 10–7 in a tight encounter and earlier beat Happy Stars and Mkhuhlu United to cement their place at the top of the log. They lead with 10 points and a goal difference of +51, earning praise from fans who called them “unstoppable this season”.

Mkhuhlu Diamonds also impressed, thrashing De Double LL Stars 23–0 before overcoming Dube Club 14–9, keeping them in second place with four wins from five games. Crystal Lake remain in contention after bouncing back with a 19–4 victory over De Double LL Stars.

Elsewhere, Dube Club drew 12–12 with KB Titans but slipped against Mkhuhlu Diamonds. KB Titans collected vital points by defeating Happy Stars 9–5. At the lower end of the standings, Little Angels, Mkhuhlu United and De Double LL Stars are still searching for their first wins.

League organiser Daimani Hlatshwayo said the competition is about more than results: “The league is about building community spirit and giving local players a platform to showcase their skills.”

With several rounds still to come, fans are watching closely to see if Mookie Stars can hold their lead or if Mkhuhlu Diamonds and Crystal Lake can close the gap.
