Andile Matukane, a young and dynamic female farmer from Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, is the founder and CEO of Farmer’s Choice, an award-winning company specializing in crop production and agricultural training for youth. Her company, recognized for its innovative approach to the food production cycle, offers Agriseta-accredited short courses in crop preparation and animal reproduction.

With a strong vision, Andile is determined to make Farmer’s Choice a globally recognized leader in agriculture, excelling in both small and large projects in the coming years. Her company provides a wide range of services aimed at enhancing the agricultural industry and contributing to national development. These services include land preparation, farm management, hydroponic and aquaponic production, rooftop farming, as well as coaching, counseling, training, and development.

Andile is committed to Sustainable Development Goals such as zero hunger, quality education, decent employment, and economic prosperity. She develops essential skills and promotes sustainable food production, benefiting numerous farms and students across South Africa.

Andile holds a diploma in plant propagation from the University of Mpumalanga, formerly known as Lowveld College for Agriculture, and a diploma in plant pathology from Tshwane University of Technology. Her outstanding achievements have earned her multiple awards, including the Young Farmer’s Award for 2023, the South African Entrepreneurs Climate Change Award in 2022, and the Best Young Subsistence Producer category. Farmer’s Choice also offers internship programs for agriculture graduates, further contributing to the growth of the agricultural sector.
