Songs and jubilation as New Mathibela Traditional Council Offices open

"New Mathibela Traditional Council offices open"

Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, joined by Bushbuckridge Local Municipality Mayor Sylvia Nxumalo and Council Speak, Ruth Raganya as well as Mathibela Chief ML Mokoena, officiated the opening of the newly constructed offices of the Mathibela Traditional Council in Oakley, Bushbuckridge.

The event took place last week in Oackley, Bushbuckridge, marking a significant milestone for the local community and the traditional council, as they received a dedicated, modern space for their day-to-day engagements.

The unveiling of the offices represented the fulfillment of a commitment made by the Mpumalanga Provincial Government to continuously support the institution of traditional leadership. Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane had already expressed her gratitude for the new offices, describing them as an investment in infrastructure. She emphasized that this significant step was yielding positive results in supporting traditional leadership.

The day saw Traditional Chiefs from Bushbuckridge coming together in celebration! The local chiefs were adorned in their traditional attire as groups danced and alalulated.

“I am delighted to see the completion of the Mathibela Traditional Council offices. The new facility will play a crucial role in promoting cultural heritage and bolstering the working relationship between traditional leadership and local communities,” said Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane.
