On International Women’s Day, South Africa joins the global community in celebrating women’s achievements and renewing calls for gender equality under the theme “Count Her In Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress.”

The South African government continues prioritizing gender-responsive financing, increasing public spending on essential services and social protection to address women’s needs. Investing in women catalyzes progress, creating opportunities and empowerment for all in society to thrive.

Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, leading efforts for women, youth, and persons with disabilities, will give a keynote address at the DIRCO Conference Centre, marking the occasion. Her speech will likely highlight ongoing initiatives and call for further action to advance women’s rights and representation.
