As police were conducting a vehicle control checkpoint in Buffelspruit outside Malelane on Sunday. Firstly, a 27 year old woman was found with 3,40kg of dagga estimated at R14 280.00 on street value in the afternoon.
In a space of about four hours, a 31 year old man suspect was also arrested on the same spot. The suspect was arrested for possession of 2.35kg of dagga valued at R9 870.00 on street value at about 17:45. The both suspects appeared before Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
She was arrested for dealing in dagga. Hence, her appearance in court today. policing’s N4 corridor operation’s hard work resulted in the seizure of 5.75kg of dagga valued at R24 150.00 on street value from two different suspects at the R570 road on Sunday.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has welcomed the arrest of the suspects and warned dagga smugglers not to use Mpumalanga for drug trafficking.
