Nohamba finds joy, bok call-up

Scrumhalf Sanele Nohamba has rediscovered his love for rugby after moving to the Lions, leading to
a recall to the Springbok squad.

Nohamba was named in a 43-man Bok alignment camp taking place in Cape Town next month. He
previously earned caps for the Junior Boks and made the senior team in 2021.

“The more I enjoy it the better I play, so I think enjoying it has been the best thing for me,” Nohamba
said.

After losing his starting role at the Sharks, Nohamba said he struggled to find enjoyment in the
game. His move to the Lions has revived his passion for rugby and subsequently his form.

“I think I am (playing some of his best rugby). But obviously I am still looking to improve,” he said.
“You can’t just stick to one level.”

Nohamba is eager to learn from the alignment camp and see where he stands with the Bok coaches.
He wants to fit into their systems after thriving in the Lions’ style of play.

“It is a huge honour and privilege for me to be back in the Springbok squad again,” Nohamba said. “I
am just excited.”

The scrumhalf is hoping his rugby joy translates into a permanent spot back with the world
champion Springboks.
