A 35-year-old lady was arrested for murder after fleeing the scene where she allegedly drove over her husband multiple times with a car when he stayed behind the car, preventing her from leaving.

At the time of the event, Samantha Gaunche and her husband Jansen Van Rensburg were allegedly fighting at a friend’s home in Plot 72 Modder East Orchards Ellon in Sundra. The dead attempted to stop Gaunche from leaving before she allegedly ran him over with her car.

Gaunche eventually sped off, leaving her spouse in the car. Upon their arrival at the crime site, medical personnel pronounced Van Rensburg dead.

Gaunche was apprehended at a nearby farm, at least a mile from the spot where the car is said to have lost control and hit a tree.

She was caught by farm workers who witnessed the tragedy as she allegedly tried to leave by running towards a bridge. After being returned to her car, the police were called right away, and she was taken into custody immediately.
