Three individuals were arrested for murder following an agreed-upon dispute

Three suspects aged between 18 and 19 were arrested by the Police in Barberton shortly after a man from the kingdom of Eswatini was murdered. The incident which is suspected to have been sparked by an argument over alcohol, occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 09 September 2023 around 02h00 am.

According to a report, on that fateful day, police as well as paramedics were summoned to a scene at Kamadakwa in Barberton outside Nelspruit and upon arrival the victim was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries on his upper body. Unfortunately, he was certified dead. Crucial items, such as broken beer bottles with some blood stains were collected at the crime scene for further investigation.

A murder case was opened meanwhile Police immediately began investigating. The prompt action resulted in the arrest of the three suspects, a few hours later.

It was during the preliminary investigation when investigators stumbled upon information alluded to, regarding the alleged fight which reportedly broke out before the murder.

The three male suspects are expected to appear at the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 11 September 2023 facing charges of murder.

Part of the probe will be to establish the motive behind the killing as well as to obtain the victim’s age, which is currently unknown.
