The Police as well as the Rescue team in Balfour are at a certain mine in the area after
a horrific occurrence in which four persons tragically lose their lives.
It is suspected that a mine conveyor belt fell resulting in the death of four male persons
meanwhile two others are said to have sustained some injuries. The injured were taken
to the hospital for medical treatment. The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday
13 April around 11h45 am.

Circumstances surrounding this incident are yet to be established, including the
identities of the victims who unfortunately died. An inquest concerning the death of the
victims will be investigated. More information will be provided as details come forth.
