Mpumalanga’s very own Comedian

One of the first comedic voices of the “Born Frees” Ebenhaezer Dibakwane representing Mpumalanga in comedy, not only is he a stand-up comedian but also an Actor, writer, mc and recently a dancer some call him “jack of all trades”.

Ebenhaezer Dibakwane (24) from Mpumalanga Nelspruit is one those that holds high their culture. Even though he now lives in Johannesburg but is still fond of his culture.

Through his writing skills and stand up performances Dibakwane provides a different narrative describing the world from the point of view of a dandelion sharing a meal with a Chihuahua from a distant land going through its mid-life crisis. Even though he is yet sure of that though.

He is recently becoming a more frequent face on the comedy scene, this two time award winning comedian, SAFTA nominated writer and actor has had what can only be described as a miraculous rise in what is an exciting career.

Dibakwane’s journey in Film started off when he first played the role of The Main Protagonist’s little brother in Kagiso Lediga’s film “Catching feelings” and the Mzansi Magic film “two funerals one body”.

Dibakwane started exploring Television in 2015: Comedy from a step – Thembisa Midrand TV. Only Ekasi- Commercial- Role of Guy 1 Ashes to Ashes- Role of Director Bantu Hour Season 12016: Wimpy Television Commercial. Comedy Central Roast Battle 2017: Thulani no Thuli Lead Role of Kaygee easy Money-Support Role of Muzi. Appeared on season 2 of the Bantu Hour.2018 etv Comedy at Goliath and Goliath Mzansi Comedy Nights point of order for Showmax.

Dibakwane has done some outstanding work for the past few years to grow his career in stand-up comedy which was ground breaking for him. In 2016/2018 he appeared in Monday Night Comedy at Popp’s, Goliath Comedy Club, Oppi Koppi Festival, Hosted Work Arts, Opening Act for Trevor Gumbi, Comedy Central 20 in 5, Host of Trevor Gumbi’s The Divorce Tour.

It is said that with great work comes great rewards well Dibakwane proved that by achieving awards and accolades. SAFTA Nomination for Best Writing in a Comedy British, Savanna Comic’s Choice Newcomer of the year and Savanna Comic’s Intermediate Comic of the year. He was recently on a dance show called dancing with the stars SA where he was competing with his dance partner Nombulelo Hlathi.
